Open source is no longer just a synonym for Linux, open source solutions operate in various business systems.

Visitors of Open Source Days conference will have the opportunity to become familiar with key open source solutions that form the basis of business IT systems of many companies today. Solutions for automation, cloud, deployment,mobile application platforms and „containers“ based on open source are enabling many companies to quickly and efficiently implement their business IT systems.

The schedule of the first conference day will include plenary lectures and series of professional lectures.

APIS IT is a company that is synonymous with state administration computerization - we have been developing and maintaining key information systems in the country for more than 50 years. For many years now we have been following open source development and applying the best solutions in our own business and information systems of our clients.
The presentation's focus will be on the recent projects where we have successfully applied open source tools and concepts, based on cloud-native principles such as containerization, micro services, and DevOps. Filip Kaić, a senior developer and open source enthusiast, and Marin Katić, a team leader in the web and mobile solutions development department will present experiences in application of open source code and solutions based on APIS IT.

On September 30th, 2017, participants of Open Source Days conference will be given the opportunity to obtain the Red Hat Certification – RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) free of charge.

The main conference sponsor, Red Hat, and the largest regional training center, Algebra, will enable 15 selected participants to take the RHCSA examination.

NOTE:

Priority in application for free RHCSA certification have first and second day conference participants.
Registration for certification exam does not guarantee access to the exam as the number of participants is limited. The organizers will select individuals who will take the exam based on the content of their applications and motivation letter and will notify them of time and place of examination no later than September 20th, 2017. The value of the certification exam is 2,100 kuna +VAT.

Branislav Bukva,
Red Hat

Red Hat Training Business Development Manager & Head of Red Hat Academy EMEA, Red Hat is responsible for the Red Hat Training business in the Eastern European region, and manages the Red Hat training ecosystem, making sure that he understand partners and customers using Red Hat’s training offerings and how to benefit from them. His role is key in helping and enabling Red Hat customers keep their technical skills up to date as adopt new and emerging technologies. On the other hand, as head of Red Hat Academy, Branislav is engaging with different academic institutions in Europe and turning them into centers for enterprise-ready talent by outfitting them with Red Hat Training.

Radek Vokál, Senior Engineering Manager started his carrier as Open Source developer and enthusiast. Over last 15 years move from development to management role and these days is responsible for core technologies in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora. During that time he also established core collaboration between Red Hat and several universities in Czech Republic. He loves presenting to people excited about Open Source and is one of the main organizers of Czech Developer conference – DevConf.cz. Radek is based in Brno, Czech Republic.

Vedran Dakić, has been working with Red Hat Linux since 1996, since the 3.0.3 version (Picasso). He gained the experience with open source systems working on projects in the Republic of Croatia and abroad. He has been working as a Red Hat Instructor (RHCI) since 2006 and as an examiner (RHCX) since 2013. In addition, he has been a Microsoft Certified Trainer and VMware Consultant for years now.
